Parchment Practise

I recently spent a very restful week in Menorca getting down to some serious parchment practise in this lovely setting (ignoring the dates on the photos, I think the camera needs adjusting).  This is one of the pieces I finished off when I got home, I hope I am managing to master the white work technique, anyway it looks better than my first attempts.

The sun shone and we ate far too much food but I can't think of a better place to practise.

Decoupage Shoe

A card I made last month for my Daughter's birthday using some lovely decoupage papers I bought ages ago from House of Zandra and flowers made with a Clarity Stamp flower stamp, coloured with Promarkers and coated with Glossy Accents for a shiny finish.  The leaves were also stamped and coloured and I cut a die cut florish to finish off the decoration.  The sentiment has been stamped using a set of word stamps from Honeydoo.

Praying for Sunnier Days

The sun is shining outside but I've spent the whole afternoon inside playing with my new laptop.  It seems very hi tech compared to my old one but I think I've mastered it so far!

Here is a card with a white embossed background created with a Clarity Stencil and matted onto some dark purple card.

I have a lovely set of stamps called Black Eyed Susan Vintage Labels Five from Justrite  which I've used for the main image, the floral panel, butterly and sentiment.  Its one of my favourite sets as the flowers are so delicate but easy to colour in.

I hope you like this card, your comments will be very welcome.  Thanks for looking.

Congratulations on your Engagement

Hi, to make this card I've used Dusty Concorde and Raspberry Distress Inks brushed over a Clarity Stamp Stencil.  For the topper I cut a heart shape and stamped the image using a Clarity wee folk stamp and Eggplant Adirondack ink and a sentiment from Justrite Stamps heat embossed with silver embossing powder. I matted onto some similar coloured cardstock and edged the heart with Dusty Concorde.

I hope you like the finished effect, thanks for looking, your comments will be very welcome.

Birdhouse

Card made using Clarity Stamps garden birds set and the letterbox kit for my Dad for his 92nd birthday in a few weeks time.

To make the card I first stamped and masked the letter boxes and wording then added a sun mask.  For a nice bright background I applied a mixture of Adirondack Sailboat Blue and Shabby Shutters and Peacock Feathers Distress inks onto the card using brushes.  To colour the sun with a mixture of orange and yellow ink I removed the sun mask and covered the background with an aperture mask and then applied some Black Soot Distress ink to create some hills in the background.  Once that was all dry I stamped on the birds, birdhouse etc.

I've matted the picture onto another piece of card again coloured with the same blue and green inks and stamped around the edges in black with the branch stamp from this set.

Mothers Day

Here is a card I made for my Mother in law this year using the Craftwork Cards Paradise papers for the background and central image along with a lacey circular die.  I used some large letter stamps to stamp MUM then cut out and covered in glossy accents and glitter then stuck them onto the card with some gel glue so they are slightly raised.

Floral Heart

This set of heart dies is really useful, going from the largest one on this card right down to a tiny little one.  I used the first 2 sizes for the main heart and some tattered rose ink around the edge.  The floral embellishment is a Honeydoo stamp which I've coloured with a mixture of peach and pink promarkers, cut out and added to the side of the heart.

I also tried it out in some purple/lilac shades and think they both look as good.
