Flowers

For this card I used an Indiglblu stamp with some gilding flakes on a Spellbinder Die cut for the central topper. The flowers were made with some Dreemees flower stamps and coloured with Adirondack Mountain rose, with a turquoise gem in the centre, and the foliage coloured with Peacock Feathers Distress Ink.

This is another background I created myself this time by stamping the swirls from the main stamp randomly around with Peacock Feathers Distress Ink onto a piece of card which has first been coloured with Adirondack Mountain Rose and then finished with Peacock Feathers around the edges.

Thank you for looking, your comments are very welcome.

Things with Wings

Well here we are nearly at the end of January and this is my first post of 2015, but I haven't been idle, far from it, and I've even managed to make a few cards, in fact I have quite a few birthdays to make cards for around the beginning of the year.  My New Year's resolution - to try out more techniques and varied types of craft.  I've already finished a baby scrapbook of my Granddaughter's first year (she's 3 now) and I've a huge pile of photos ready to scrapbook.

On the technique side this is my first attempt at making a background using cling film spritzed with water on top of a piece of coated Clarity Card brayered over with Adirondack inks in lettuce and stonewash blue.  This is something I've seen done on the TV before but was reminded of it I think on Barbara Gray's blog recently.  Moving the wet cling film around on top of the ink leaves some lovely patterns once dry.

I used the top strip to stamped the Clarity Celebration stamp, first time I've used this.  On the remainder of the card I stamped the line of trees club stamp and some foliage from the garden and birdhouse set around the edges. I stamped the blooming corner and border onto Theuver card, colouring and cutting out to create a 3 sided frame and mounted this onto the background with dimensional glue to give a 3D effect and hopefully the impression that bird feeder is hanging from it.  The little blue tits are stamped separately, coloured with Promarkers, cut out and covered with glossy accents before I added them to the scene along with the little bees and ladybird. Both pieces of the picture are mounted onto some dark green card.

I hope you like the finished card, your comments will be very welcome.
