Santa down the chimney

A Christmas card for my Grandson using a mixture of Clarity Groovi Plates from the "Twas the Night" set.  I've used Distress markers and Promarkers to colour the various images on the back and then Clear Wink of Stella to add shimmer on the front with some glitter on the stars although that doesn't really show up on the photo.  I've also used the Red Wink of Stella on Santa's trousers.  Finally I brushed blue denim Adirondack over the border area on the back and mounted onto some bright blue mirri card.

This is my entry for the December Clarity Blog Challenge

Happy Birthday Owl

A card made with a Clarity Groovi club plate and bits taken from the background plate, coloured from the back with pencils for the background for a muted colour and Distress markers for a brighter colour on the border, banner and owl.  I've also used some gold pen on the front for some of the owl feathers and the remainder is whitework.

Vintage Christmas

For this card I've used some of the Heartfelt Creations papers and the Christmas Lantern stamp.  I used Promarkers to colour the lantern and flowers then stamped the flower again with some gold embossing powder and decoupaged onto the bottom of the lantern.  I brushed some Antique Linen Distress ink around the lantern to take away the whiteness and give it a more vintage look.

Clever Berry Corner

Here is my entry for this month's Clarity Stamp blog challenge "A blast from the past".  I've used the Clever Berry Corner which I think is probably the first Clarity stamp I bought after seeing it demonstrated in the Lesson 1 Classroom with Barbara on Create and Craft (2011).  In fact I've still got the pattern building sheet that came with it.  Unfortunately it hasn't photographed too well but this is the best of 3 attempts.

I've stamped the corner all over a piece of black coated card with Versamark ink then covered with some Honeydoo glitter embossing powder in bronze, gold and silver and backed onto mat gold card.  I did the same again with the Christmas greeting on a small square piece of coated card and matted this onto another square of gold mat card.

Christmas flowers

Another Christmas design from Heartfelt Creations this time using the Pointsettia stamps.  The design is stamped onto white card then I've stamped again and coloured and cut out the 3 flowers to decoupage onto the original design.  The greeting is stamped onto a die cut.

Christmas Lantern

I've been working hard on my Christmas cards over the last couple of weeks.  I get a little bored after so long doing the same card so I've done so many of each design.  Here is one with an embossed white background matted onto red card.  The Christmas lantern is from Heartfelt Creations and I've heat embossed the image and sentiment and coloured with promarkers.

Girl on a gate

A card here made with some Holly Hobby stamps which I think came free with a magazine.  The papers are from a Nitwit pad from Lilly of the Valley. I've made the flowers with a die using some of the same paper pad.

Elephants

A card made for my Grandson's 9th birthday using the Clarity Groovi Club elephant plate and henna borders plate.  I used florescent gel pens to colour in the borders and green mirri card for the backing.

Poppies in the Landscape

A card made with some of the lovely Hobbyart stamps.  I'm not too good at Landscapes but their stamps make it easy to set out a scene.  This one is coloured with Promarkers and Wink of Stella red and green on the poppies around the border, some of which are decoupaged.

Circles and Squares

Hi, here is a card made using Clarity stamps and stencils.  The background colours are slightly darker than the photo shows and has been created using Distress inks, Mustard Seed and Peacock Feathers and some Lettuce Adirondack then I've applied Brilliance Moonlight White ink through the bubble stencil.   I stamped the ducks and tree with Black Archival ink onto a square of card and edged with a black promarker.

Love Sewing

A hanging MDF plaque made with some papers I had with a quilting pattern for the background.  The sewing machine cotton reels and scissors have been stamped and cut out and I added some glossy accents to the machine and scissors and attached them with Pinflair glue for dimension.  The wording is stamped onto different colour squares and cut out then glued together with more Pinflair glue, I've added Stickles gold sparkle around the edge of the letter squares although its not too visible in the picture.  Finally I stamped some faux stitching and pearls around the edge and made a flower from buttons.

The central image is stamped onto a white oval shape and coloured with Memento Rhubarb Stalk and Morocco inks using a paint brush.

In my Garden

I made this card today after thinking hard for ages, and trying out several ideas, about what to do for this month's Clarity Stamp challenge.

I've used all Clarity stamps, some really old and some not so old, and a stencil I bought on Saturday at the Clarity open day in Leyburn.  Colours are Adirondack Mountain Rose, Squeezed Lemonade Distress ink and Picked Raspberry Distress ink, It looks more sunny in real life than in the photo.

Birds, trees, flowers, dragon flies, caterpillars, squirrels and a lot more besides are what I find in my garden.

Thanks for looking your comments will be very much appreciated.

New Home

Evening, thanks for taking a look at my latest blog post which is a card I made recently using Clarity stamps and stencils.

I created the background by brushing some pink, blue and yellow Distress inks across a the Clarity squares stencil directly onto a 6 x 6 white card blank. For the central image I stamped and coloured some of the wee houses onto a square piece of white card, hen masking off the houses to stamp the trees, bits of grass and fencing the matted onto a dark blue background.  The banner is also from Clarity.

Your comments will be greatly received thanks.

Falling Leaves

Here is a card made using the Clarity Stamps Maple Leaf set of leaves and sentiment.  For the centre I stamped all 3 sizes of leaves onto a piece of cream card with the help of a few masks and heat embossed the sentiment in the middle.

I then added a frame cut from brown card and stuck it to the cream card with 3D foam pads to give a raised effect.  The leaves on the frame have been individually stamped, coloured and cut out and attached with Pinflair gel. I used a variety of colours from the Distress ink and Adirondack ink ranges for the leaves and after cutting out I've gone round the edges of each leaf with some Gathered Twigs Distress ink.  I've just used the largest leaf with one or two of the middle size to fill in gaps and some dots of Stickles glue for a bit of sparkle. Finally I've matted onto a cream card base using Gathered Twigs Distress Inks around the edges.

Flip Flap Foto Folio

This is a project I've been planning to do for a while now and I've reached the stage where I can start to add photos.  Its a photo folio made following an online workshop by Dawn Macfie from Dawns Inspirations

I've made it for my 92 year old father who has been taking a trip down memory lane recently with a visit to the village where he lived as a small child.  I'm including photos of our visit and some historical ones I found on the internet.  He has dexterity problems so I am hoping he will find the folio easy to look at.

I used craft card for the base of the book and covered with patterned papers with a nature theme from Be Creative which I found at the last craft show I went to.

So here we have the front page which I've decoupaged and used Pewter gilding wax on the leaves and flower on the top right hand side.  Its fairly muted colours so not too easy to see.

The folio opens ;up inside into a number of areas for adding photographs as you can see from the pictures below.  This is the center with pockets for photo mats on one side and waterfall mats on the other.

I hope you can get an idea of the folio from these pictures.

Kingfisher

This is another bird from the Clarity Stamp range, Kingfisher this time coloured with Promarkers as they seem to give the most vivid result.

For the background I put some Distress Inks onto a piece of card (peacock feathers and squeezed lemonade I believe I used) then spritzed water onto clingfilm and squidged it around on the card.  When dry I put the same colours onto a blending mat and spritzed with more water and mopped up with the card to cover the white patches and get the effect I wanted.

Lavender Lady

This card I made for my daughter's birthday using Pion papers for both the background ad topper from Which Craft Doncaster in purple and lavender tones with the addition of some lace.  I made the flowers with a couple of flower dies from the same papers and a bit of distress ink, and then added some green foliage also cut from a die.

There were enough papers to complete the inside as well with a bit of stamping and embossing with some glitter embossing powder.

Owl on a branch

Hello there, I've been busy recently making cards and some scrap book projects but not had the time to blog what I've made till now.

Here is a card made using a Clarity stamps Owl and oak leaf frame stamps coloured with a mixture of Promarkers and Spectrum Noir pencils with a bit of inking for the background.  The backing paper is from an 8 x 8 paper pad from Lili of the Valley called Antebellum and I chose it as it looks like tree bark. I used some gold mirri card to matt both the background and main image onto

Parchment Practise

I recently spent a very restful week in Menorca getting down to some serious parchment practise in this lovely setting (ignoring the dates on the photos, I think the camera needs adjusting).  This is one of the pieces I finished off when I got home, I hope I am managing to master the white work technique, anyway it looks better than my first attempts.

I am entering this card into the June Clarity Stamp Blog Challenge Masculine theme.

The sun shone and we ate far too much food but I can't think of a better place to practise.

Decoupage Shoe

A card I made last month for my Daughter's birthday using some lovely decoupage papers I bought ages ago from House of Zandra and flowers made with a Clarity Stamp flower stamp, coloured with Promarkers and coated with Glossy Accents for a shiny finish.  The leaves were also stamped and coloured and I cut a die cut florish to finish off the decoration.  The sentiment has been stamped using a set of word stamps from Honeydoo.

Praying for Sunnier Days

The sun is shining outside but I've spent the whole afternoon inside playing with my new laptop.  It seems very hi tech compared to my old one but I think I've mastered it so far!

Here is a card with a white embossed background created with a Clarity Stencil and matted onto some dark purple card.

I have a lovely set of stamps called Black Eyed Susan Vintage Labels Five from Justrite  which I've used for the main image, the floral panel, butterly and sentiment.  Its one of my favourite sets as the flowers are so delicate but easy to colour in.

I hope you like this card, your comments will be very welcome.  Thanks for looking.
